Nice bright sweetly balanced citrus acidity, big smooth body, honey blossom, sweet, apricot, dark chocolate, peach ice tea, vibrant floral, clean, rose hips, rich, lemon, cherry cordial, sweet lasting finish.

We found this well hidden coffee bag while doing our end of year Inventory and couldn't be happier. The coffee has been hermetically sealed in a plastic bag and still cups very well. The current year crop lot #1 of this coffee sold for over $600 per Lb at auction. Roasting Aroma: Roasting sweet corn, sugar cane, sweet, plum

Grower: The Peterson Family, third generation coffee Growers and owners of La Hacienda Esmeralda. The Petersons are instrumental in the development of the prized Geisha Arabica coffee Varietal (making it viable for the Specialty Market) with it's unusual shape and less healthy plant appearance than most coffees. Appearances aside Esmeralda Geisha Arabica coffee has won accolades Worldwide and absolute Top scores from some of the most renowned coffee Reviewers. Peterson Family won the Panama Cup of Excellence award a decade ago with their Esmeralda Geisha.

Geisha sometimes spelled Gesha is an old Varietal Native to the shady rain forests of Ethiopia where it is known to produce exceptional tasting coffee. However, due to it's delicate nature, susceptibility to disease and insect damage, and low quantity of usable Fruit it has only Recently become available to the Specialty coffee Market as the Sole Varietal of an Origin.  

Farm: La Hacienda Esmeralda. Employs 45 full time permanent people and 300 temporary Employees during peak season. Geisha pickers earn a higher wage and earn a significant bonus for the extra care that goes into producing this fabulous coffee. Hacienda La Esmeralda is a highly sought after Employer thanks to on site medical, dental, and child care, they also help with school supplies and scholarships.

Region: Chiriqui Province near the town of Boquete, nestled between the Volcan Buru National Park of Panama and La Amistad International Park both heavily forested conservation areas.

Processing: Fully Washed and sun dried on site.

Soil: Volcanic Loam

Harvest: October - March
