"Daterra is a coffee grower and exporter best known for its innovative
research, its respect for the environment, and its high quality coffee.
Miguel Paschoal arrived in Brazil from Bari, Italy in 1902 when he was
11 years old. In 1908, when the Campinas City Market was inaugurated,
he started his first entrepreneur adventure: he opened a stand in this
marketplace to sell coffee by the cup - a widely known model today.
As the business and the clients' loyalty grew, Miguel then opened a
grocery store, and later a gas station. The gas station was then sold and
the first car service station in the city was opened, beginning the
Dpaschoal chain. In 1980, the company began investing in
agribusiness. In 1984, the investments in this area were all directed
toward the production of sustainable and specialty coffees, in a
way returning to the original family business.
Sustainability and social responsibility have always been a priority in all
the company's businesses, no matter what field or activity they have
been. Daterra farms are comprised of 50% preservation areas and
produce quality coffees, which are recognized worldwide. The
company's most valuable assets, its employees and the community, are
especially cared for. This is an example of environmental and social
responsibility, which the group has been preserving for over 100 years.
Arabica variety has always been the "king of coffees." Its richness and
balance are the result of more than 120 aromatic oils and more than
300 chemical elements, delivering an exotic and complex cup of coffee.
In partnership with The Agronomic Institute of Campinas and
lllycafe, Daterra has extinsively researched to select and use
the following varieties: Typica, Bourbon, Caturra, Mundo Novo, Red and
Yellow Icatu, and Red and Yellow Catuai.
Sweet Blue
This outstanding blend reveals one of the finest specialty coffees. It has
superb aroma and tastes like an elegant spicy chocolate bar. Its
moderate acidity is distinct and provides a balanced cup."
