Home Coffee Roasting is driven by you and me by buying select top quality great tasting coffee rather than the heavily advertised same in every Can huge quantity stuff in a grocery store.
We are buying small lots of coffee that the Growers and Processors have put extra effort into to achieve a higher Grade and better taste than the norm. Large quantity Corporations won't use this better coffee because it costs more, and why make it better when people buy mainly for price and Advertised impressions (that Guy with a Donkey is an Actor, I make my living tasting coffee).
Small high Quality Growers and Processors EARN a better price for better taste which also benefits their Employees and Communities for improved Quality inputs. Small Exporters, Importers, and Retailers (like me) make their livings by searching out and offering only these high Quality Specialty Grade better tasting coffees. We work hard to find the best coffee at a great value even if we can only get a few bags of a particular bean. With any crop as the quantity goes up the quality goes down.
